Course Content

Advanced Tennis involves the students learning more subtle shots such as a sliced backhand, as well as strategy for competitive situations.  Competitive situations also challenge the students' mental discipline and ability to deal with their emotions.  Students learn how to have a more effective mindset for competitive situations.  Students also refine their footwork and preparation with all their shots.


P/NP grading will be based on the following:
Students will be allowed no more than three (3) absences
In addition, technical and tactical skill development is assessed and supported throughout
the quarter

Safety Notification

There are risks and dangers inherent in participating and/or receiving instruction in a PHE 1 Activity course. Injury resulting from participation is always a possibility in physical activity. Please carefully follow the guidelines provided by your instructor and adhere to any rules established by the instructor. Please notify your instructor immediately if you become ill or injured, or feel that you shouldn’t participate on a given day.
Unless otherwise expressly indicated by the student, the assumption is that the student is in good
health and is capable of participating in all facets of the physical activity related to this class.
