Aerobic Swimming



Improve each participant's overall cardiovascular fitness level through aerobic swimming training. 
Develop and improve stroke technique in the 4 competition strokes and be able to demonstrate them. 
Develop and improve proper turns in the 4 competition strokes and be able to demonstrate them. 
Increase muscle tone, strength and flexibility as well as reduce stress.

PE 1 Aerobic Swimming is a pass/no pass course. Grading is based on attendance and participation. 
The minimum attendance to pass is 85% (or 17 out of 20 sessions). In addition, technical and tactical skill development is assessed and supported throughout the quarter.

Arrive for class on time and in appropriate swim attire (includes cap and goggles).

Don't eat a heavy meal immediately prior to class.

Be sensitive to the injuries you might have, listen to your body (especially your shoulders, knees, elbows, etc.). 
Do not be afraid to ask questions. The question on your mind is probably on the minds of others as well. 
Bring a container of water to drink from to avoid dehydration.

Please carefully follow the guideline provided by your instructor and adhere to any rules established by the instructor.  Please notify your instructor immediately if you become injured or ill, or feel that you shouldn't participate in a given activity. Unless otherwise expressly indicated by the student, the assumption is that the student is in good health and is capable of participating in all facets of the physical activity related to this class."
