Description

COURSE DESCRIPTION
Welcome to PHE 001 Volleyball.  This class is designed to help players learn and develop a basic understanding of volleyball.   The class will include instruction in the basic skills of serving, passing, setting, attacking and blocking.  The class will also cover tactical skills of basic volleyball offensive and defensive play and well as the rules and scoring.

GRADING
The maximum number of allowable absences is three. More than 3 absences will result in a “No Pass” for the course. In addition, technical and tactical skill development is assessed and supported throughout the quarter.

COURSE RULES

Participation: Class participation in activities is a must.

Dress: Wear tennis shoes, sweats, shorts, a t-shirt (knee pads are recommended but optional).

There are risks and dangers inherent in participating and/or in receiving instruction in a PE-1 activity course.  Injury resulting from participation is always a possibility in physical activity.  Please carefully follow the guidelines provided in this class.  Please notify your instructor immediately if you become injured or ill. If not expressed, the assumption is that the student is in good health and is capable of participating in all facets of physical activity related to this class.
